Has anyone heard the new Dan Auerbach record?  He's the main guy from the Black Keys, and I'm not so much into them, but his solo record is pretty effin' good.  Very dirty.

Yeah, I second that.  It's a very good record.  Some of it is like the Black Keys (which I like), but a lot of it isn't.  He gets away from the strict rhythm and blues vibe.

I saw them live a couple of months ago, and it wasn't really inspiring.  They weren't bad, but their show seemed kind of generic.  I'm guessing the album is much better...

The album is very good. I haven't seen them live yet, but I'm planning on checking them out next time they come around here.

If you're looking for some hot ukulele action, I'd recommend:

I know this band isn't new, and most people probably already listen to them, but Gogol Bordello is an incredible band

I've just got into this japanese band, mono. Seriously the best instrumental music i've ever heard. Their newest album is spectacular.

The music is nothing like I&W at all but I've been listening to Ride a lot lately. Amazing late 80s-early 90s British rock/shoegaze band. Beautiful but rough and lo-fi at the same time. It's wonderful.
